We'd like to welcome you to our web site and tell you a little bit about ourselves.  We're Duane and Dottie Packard and our place is located about an hour north of Cheyenne, Wyoming and 30 minutes west of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  We buy and sell Quarter Horses and Paints - mostly geldings, but also a few mares now and then.  We also advertise horses for our  friends and neighbors.

Our goal is to produce a sound, sensible horse that you can use and enjoy, no matter what you want to do - whether it's pleasure riding, trail, ranch work and roping or arena events.  We like good boned, straight-legged horses with a quiet disposition and good mind that can do a day's work and be a pleasure to ride.  We make sure our horses have a nice handle and will go where you ask them to without a fuss - whether it's through a creek, over a log or just down the hill.

We start our young horses with a lot of round pen and ground work, then spend lots of time outside with them, letting them learn to travel and handle their feet.  We believe in getting a colt outside of the arena as soon as possible in order to let them travel freely.  We try to expose them to as many different situations as possible so they can handle what ever you might throw at them - this includes riding them at roping practices and brandings, gathering cattle for friends and neighbors and even pushing cattle at the sale barn during the busy times.

Our older horses that are ready to start roping get plenty of time on cattle, tracking and teaching position and rate, then as much time scoring cattle as they need to be quiet and alert in the box.  We also do a lot of pasture riding outside to keep them fresh and relaxed.  The end result is a quiet, solid, well-broke horse that you can really use and enjoy.
